International Student Adaptation Experiences
25 August: Director of the International Relations Centre (UKM Global) Assoc. Prof. Dr Abdul Latiff was the guest speaker for FCAM’s latest webinar, 'International Student Adaptation Experiences'. Dr Latiff spoke of the different phases experienced by students while studying abroad, including the initial ‘honeymoon period’, followed by culture shock, the adjustment period and finally adaptation, where students begin to feel at home in the foreign country. Dr Latiff is well known in his field as an expert in culture and an interculturalist - one who facilitates interaction across cultures; having researched in this area for many years.
