Bridging Innovation, Technology, and Science, or in short, bits, is a platform for IUMW students to pitch their ideas for tech startups. The recent bits event was organised by Computer Science and IT students under the Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (FSTEM) and the supervision of Mr. Sugindran Krisnan. The main objective was to create a platform for the students to pitch their ideas and learn how to attract possible investors as per the bits slogan, ‘A Step Towards Realising In-Campus Silicon Valley’.
The 10 groups participating had only 3 minutes to pitch their ideas to a panel of 3 (playing the role of project investors), namely Professor Dr. Kamran Shavarebi, Dr. Ashley Ng, and Mr. Sugindran Krisnan. At the end of the year, students will build a mobile app prototype and present their execution plan to panels from industries.
