What is a Foundation Programme?

Our foundation programmes are pre-university programmes designed to enhance your study and learning skills to prepare you to transition to undergraduate studies. With plenty of lectures, tutorials, and seminar-type classes, students are able to kick-start their undergraduate endeavours on a firm platform. Our year-long foundation programmes bridge the gap and give you the right qualifications to go straight on to an undergraduate degree programme.

What Will I Study?

Foundation programmes at IUMW provide a broad introduction to a range of subjects of your choice in either the Arts or Science fields. This will give you an idea of what degree you would like to progress to; and you gain valuable academic, study and English language skills.

What Our Students Say

Raja Rajeswary
Foundation in Science

My foundation year in IUMW was definitely one of my best years in the university. I had the opportunity to interact with not just my classmates but all the foundation students from my entire cohort through the various interactive and engaging assignments in the subjects provided. As a Foundation in Science student, a fun experience was also the lab sessions at the Universiti Malaya laboratories with my classmates. My foundation year at IUMW had me well prepared for my undergraduate journey!

Mr. Kamal Basyir Bin Radhi
Foundation in Arts

I had an amazing time in the Foundation in Arts programme, especially with the never-ending fun and excitement. My classmates from all over were amazing and each one of them had unique characteristics. The syllabus offered is varied and very fruitful! The lecturers at IUMW are very friendly and also firm when we needed it, which is an important thing because it created a balanced environment and ensured our success!
